Homoeopathic approach in management of Diabetes Mellitus – 3

Of course the homoeopathic system of therapeutics has certain limitations in the treatment of this disease especially IDDM due to the nature of the disease but it is quite effective in the management of early NIDDM and limiting the complications due to Diabetes mellitus.

Mentality is important in health & sickness

“The human being is an integrated whole acting all the time through three distinct levels: the mental, the emotional and the physical. The mental level being the most important, while physical the least.” -Dr. George Vithoulkas

Personality :: Personality Taint – a window to successful prescribing

According to the Webster’s New World Dictionary ‘Personality’ is: “Habitual patterns and qualities of behavior of any individual as expressed by physical and mental activities and attitudes; distinctive individual qualities.”

Bronchitis :: Bronchitis due to failure in love – Hyoscyamus

Though the present science of psychiatry is merely hundred years old, but Great Hahnemann realized the value of mental symptoms in the early nineteenth century. And that is the reason, he has given more importance to the mental symptoms. He has put MIND in the first place in the Materia Medica. He writes in the foot-note to Aphorism No. 16 in his ORGANON OF MEDICINE, VI Edition (Published by B. Jain, Publishers, New Delhi, V & VI Edition)

Homeopathy :: Patients not seen but prescribed

I work in a charitable hospital where there are four different cabins of doctors serving Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and eyes specialization. It is a normal practice with patients to report personally for taking medicines in all these faculties but it is abnormal if some one comes with the request that he needs medicine for the patient at home.

Homeopathy :: Homoeopathy n Case Taking

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY CASE TAKING: – To find out the most similimum drug after getting the totality (qualitative & quantitative data) of the given case. With a good case taking more than half the battle is won. Dr Hahnemann has clearly mentioned some instructions regarding case taking in the 5th edition of Organon’s Aphorism no.43-104, 139-141,150-152,147-171.Also in the aphorism no he has cautioned us to be unprejudiced observer. That means; before case taking, the physician should be unconditioned with respect to his moods, unbiased with respect to his drugs, flexible like amoeba to take 100% impression. This and above all we should be a KEEN OBSERVER.

Homoeopathy and Physiognomy

Physiognomy is the art or science of ascertaining the character of the mind of an individual by studying the features of his body especially face. So it is an art of judging or discovering temperament or character from outward appearance.

A man generally thinks according to his formation, and not only does he think according to his formation, but he acts and works in accordance therewith. External appearance and the internal environment vary from person to person. That is where physiognomy has its role to play.
