Physicist Prof. Rajesh Gopakumar has been selected for the 23rd G D Birla award for scientific research for the year 2013.
Prof. Gopakumar is presently working as a theoritical physicist at Harish Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad.
Prof. Gopakumar has made important contributions on topics in quantum field theory and string theory.
The award is meant for scientists below the age of 50 and it carries a monetary reward of one lakh fifty thousand rupees.
