Establishing new board at Delhi Homoeopathic Board

Delhi Homoeopathic Board’s electoral process is going to be held on Monday, 18th June,2012. Elections are held for four members out of nine. The Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine. Delhi was established in the year 1956 by enacting Delhi Homoeopathic Act, 1956, Delhi Homoeopathic Rules, 1958.

As per Delhi Homoeopathic (Amendment) Act, 1996:

The Board shall consist of nine members and shall be constituted in the following manner namely:-

(a) four members, who possess any of the qualifications mentioned in the Schedule to this Act and are elected by the registered practitioners from amongst themselves;

(b) two members who are registered practitioners and are nominated by the State Government;

(c) one member nominated by the State Government from amongst the Principals or other teaching faculty members of Homeopathy Medical Colleges in the National Capital Territory of Delhi;

(d) the Director or Additional Director, or any other officer as many be specified by the State Government dealing with the Indian System of Medicine, of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, to be nominated by the State Government; and

(e) one Member of the Legislative Assembly of the national Capital Territory of Delhi to be nominated by the State Government.”

Earlier in Delhi Homoeopathic Act, 1956

The Board shall consists of nine members and shall be constituted in the following manner, namely:-

(a) six members, who have put in at least 10 years practice in Homoeopathy, elected by the registered practitioners form amongst themselves.

(b) one practitioner nominated by the State Government;

(c) one member from the public having interest in Homoeopathy nominated by the State Government; and

(d) the Director or an Assistant Director of Health services, Delhi State, nominated by the State Govenment;
