In Madhya Pradesh, final touches are being given to the preparations for the elections of nine Lok Sabha seats on thursday.
AIR correspondent reports that the Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind will review poll preparations in Balaghat, Shahdol, Singrauli and Sidhi districts today.
Campaigning is at its peak in nine parliamentary segments of Vindhya and Mahakaushal region as electioneering ends this evening. Candidates of all the parties are making all out efforts to woo the voters.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in all the polling areas and special attention is being paid on naxal infested Balaghat district. The state government has sent a letter to all district collectors saying that all the polling booths should be declared “no-smoking zone”.
Meanwhile 124 candidates have been left in the fray on ten seats of third phase of the elections after the scrutiny of nominations. Nine nominations were rejected during the scrutiny yesterday.
