V R Aravindh Chithambaram wins Chennai Grandmaster

14-year-old V R Aravindh Chithambaram has won Chennai Grandmaster International Open Chess tournament.

After the final round to day Aravindh got nine points out of a possible 11 and took the winner’s trophy and the cash award of Rs. two lakh.

Grandmasters Neverov Valeriy of Ukraine and S P Sethuraman from India shared the second spot with 8.5 points. Aravindh already has National titles in Under 11, 13 and 19. He is also an Under-14 silver medallist from World Youth Chess Championship.
