Mesotherapy involves using an equipment called a mesogun which delivers micro-injections of substances such as vitamins, amino acids and fat-dissolving substances in small concentrations at multiple points in the affected area.
The injection is as fine as an acupuncture needle. Most patients use a local anaesthetic cream a couple of hours before the treatment though some prefer facing the mesogun without any anaesthetic. Patients can walk out right after the procedure.
Mesotherapy is called so because it stimulates the mesoderm which is a layer of fat cells and connective tissue under the skin. Apart from facial rejuvenation like removal of fine wrinkles, dark circles, double chin and puffy eyes, it also helps treat cellulite and contouring of the abdomen, back and arms.
