Independence Day celebrated across India

India celebrates its 67th Independence Day on Thursday amid unprecedented enthusiasm and gaiety. People of all ages, caste, religion and areas are celebrating the occasion with great enthusiasm. Independence Day was celebrated across India.

In Andhra Pradesh, Chief MinisterKiran Kumar Reddy hoisted the tricolour in hyderabad.

In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan unfurled the tricolor in Bhopal.

In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hoisted the tricolour in Patna.

In Indo-Pak border at Wagah, BSF personels also celebrated Independence day and exchanged sweets with their Pakistani counterparts.

In Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Nabam Chuki unfurled the tricolor in Itanagar.

In Tripura, Chief Minister Manik SarkarĀ  hoisted the tri-colour at the Assam Rifles ground in Agartala.

In Bhubaneshwar, Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik unfurled the national flag.

In Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh celebrated independence day in Raipur.

Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling unfurled tricolor in Gangtok.

Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, A K Singh unfurled tricolor in port blair.

In Chandigarh, Lieutenant governor Shivraj V Patil hoisted the tricolor celebrating Independence day.

Meanwhile, Congress President Sonia Gandhi hoists the national flag in Congress Headquarters while President of Bharatiya Janata Party Rajnath Singh unfurled the flag in BJP Headquarters.
