Indicated in indigestion, with bilious derangements; constipation; headache with vertigo and gastric disorders; diarrhoea, particularly during hot weather; bronchitis, pneumonia, coughs; fevers tending towards a typhoid state; rheumatic affections; inflammation of serous and synovial membranes. Suited to persons of dark complexion, vigorous constitution, lean, of firm fibre, of rather irritable disposition.
For persons intellectually keen, but physically weak; upper part of body emaciated, lower part semi – dropsical; predisposed to lung and hepatic affections (Cal., Phos., Sulph.); especially the extremes of life, children and old people.
Pains from darkness to daylight ; begin with twilight and end with daylight (Merc., Phyt.). Pains increase and decrease gradually (Stan.) shifting and require frequent change of position.
Adapted to person with dark hair and rigid fibre; weakly, psoric, with excessively yellow, sallow complexion ; subject to affections of respiratory and urinary tracts.
Especially for children during dentition in hot summer weather; children who cannot bear milk. Great weakness: children cannot stand; unable to hold up the head (abrot); prostration with sleepiness.
It is generally indicated in acute or recent cases occurring in young persons, especially girls, of a full, plethoric habit who lead a sedentary life; persons easily affected by atmospheric changes; dark hair and eyes, rigid muscular fibre.
