The gap between some things is amazing. Petrol prices three years ago. Petrol prices now. Similarly, the age factor has been crucial in any elections. Leadership is not linked to age, but it matters sometimes. Age has been closely linked with the issue of political participation.
We have often come across discussions about the importance of age in elections. When we ponder over this question, we often draw the conclusion that age is a necessary factor for both the voters and the candidates. Does age influence election results?
I am examining the age of candidates of Delhi Homeopathic Board’s Election 2012.
Ballot | Name | Age (approx.) |
1 | Dr. Aditya Kaushik | 51 |
2 | Dr. Devendra Kumar Bhardwaj | 47 |
3 | Dr. Kewal.Krishan.Juneja | 62 |
4 | Dr. Mini Mehta | 27 |
5 | Dr. Raj.Kumar.Sahota | 62 |
6 | Dr. Ramesh Chand Agarwal | 56 |
7 | Dr. Suman Mohan | 38 |
8 | Dr. Vijay Pal Singh | 47 |
Mean age of candidates = 49 years
Average age of Dr. Juneja’s Group = 58 years
Average age of Dr. Bhardwaj’s Group = 40 years
Oldest Candidate = Dr. Kewal.Krishan.Juneja
Yongest Candidate = Dr. Mini Mehta
So, who will be the winner – young blood or old blood? Would it be a matter of Generation Gap or Professional Gap / Experience Gap ?
In all seriousness, I would say age can add to or subtract from the candidates’ popularity. The result of Delhi Homeopathic Board’s Election 2012 on 18th June 2012 would confirm this analysis of age of candidates and highlight the consensus of homeopathic fraternity.
According to me, the one having more knowledge will be the winner… The one who is able to deal with all the problems which are faced by homoeopathy should win..!
Age definitely plays an important role, a person who is of more age will be full of experiences as he/she has seen life at its worst and best too…. However, the one who is young, is full of zeal, new ideas and energy,so he/she can also do miracles…!
You are right Dr Swati, this is the time to have mix of experienced and young professionals in the board.
Really nice post, i want to inform here that when Dr Juneja’s team was elected more then 20 years ago they all are below 38 as said by Dr Anil (they are 58 now) now think what they did in homeopathy and what the new TEAM will do, Here is the time to change
Good Luck New TEAM
it should be combination of both exprience and professional knowledge
old is gold .have more experiance.even know everything what,s do better for our community ,pathy.so i request to all of you .please vote for old dr k.k juneja
MOST IMPORTANT THING IS WE AVOID CASTING OUR VOTE. SUCH APATHY IS BAD! I ONLY REQUEST MUST CAST YOUR VOTE. YOUR WISDOM WILL CREATE CHANGE FOR GOOD OF HOMOEOPATHY AND HOMOEOPATH AS WELL
PLS COMMENT ON NO OF ELECTEDMEMBERS WHICH WERE REDUCED BY DELHI GOVT IN PAST INSTED TO INCREASE AS IN OTHER SYSTEMS COUNCILS
i fully agree with comments ofdr ravi bala
