The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, has made it mandatory for airlines and their operators to use all means to track their aircraft’s flight from take-off to landing.
The DGCA has also asked the operators to use Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System to track their cargo or passenger aircraft throughout the flight hours.
Responding to the global alarm at the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airline flight MH-370 which had 239 people on board, the aviation regulator today came out with a fresh circular.
According to aviation expert Ashwani Phudnis aircraft communication addressing and reporting system has the ability to track the aircraft every 15 minutes.
This will ensure that if an aircraft is missing then you will know in 15 minutes where it is and where it is not. What speed and what height it is flying.
This system will narrow down and start the search operation very fast.
