Stent :: FDA Panel backs approved use of drug coated stents

Drug coated heart stents deliver benefits that outweigh any risks of blood clots when placed in appropriate patients, a U.S. advisory panel said.

Food and Drug Administration panel will consider on Friday whether doctors implant them too often in patients with acute heart attacks and other complicating conditions.
