Salmonella :: Salmonella warning issued on risotto in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Centre for Food Safety appeals to the trade to stop selling a batch of Archer Farms Four Cheese Risotto suspected to be contaminated with Salmonella. People who have purchased the product should not eat it.

The affected products come in six-ounce/170g packages, and care stamped with a code “Best If Used By 16JUL2008AA”.

The warning comes after US authorities alerted consumers to the possible contamination. The centre has alerted the trade and local distributors, and is closely monitoring the situation.

Salmonella is a pathogen that may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, such as abdominal pain and diarrhoea.
