Quadruplets :: Identical quadruplets delivered at Benefis

Sunday was a red-letter day for Karen and J.P. Jepp. The couple’s family grew from three to seven between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Benefis Healthcare System announced baby girls were born to the Jepps, marking the seventh recorded case of identical quadruplets in medical history.

“This is a very big medical event,” commented Perinatologist Tom Key. “Identical quadruplets are extremely rare. Statistically, the chances are about one in 13 million.”

The babies were delivered by caesarian after 31 weeks gestation, and their condition is listed as good. All are breathing without ventilators.

The babies’ names and weights are:

Autumn, 2 lbs. 15 oz.
Brooke, 2 lbs. 11 oz.
Calissa, 2 lbs. 12 oz.
Dahlia, 2 lbs. 6 oz.

The Jepps also have a two-year-old son, now a proud big brother to four little sisters.
