Pregnancy :: Anti-smoking kit for pregnant women

Pregnant women will be helped to give up smoking under a new Australian Government initiative.

Mr Pyne was launching the Smoking in Pregnancy Lifescript in Adelaide. Developed under a $4.3 million, three-year Government initiative, the Lifescript kit will help doctors and health workers discourage pregnant women from smoking.

?The new kit will help general practitioners and other primary health providers advise pregnant women on how to stay healthy,? Mr Pyne said.

?The Smoking in Pregnancy Lifescript was designed to give tailored advice and support for women who smoke and are pregnant or thinking about pregnancy,? he said.
