Homoeopathic approach in management of Diabetes Mellitus – 3

Weight loss :: Weight Loss and Exercise improve Life & Liver Disease

For people with chronic liver disease, losing weight and getting more exercise helps their liver function better and improves their quality of life, new research shows. The findings, which are reported in the medical journal Gut, are based on a study of 31 overweight patients with liver disease who completed a 15-month weight loss and exercise program. Eighteen patients had hepatitis C and 13 had other types of chronic liver disease.

Colorectal Cancer :: Vitamin D reduces risk of colorectal cancer

Men at high risk for colorectal cancer should increase their intake of vitamin D and fibre. US researchers report in Journal of the American Medical Association that a daily supplement of the “sunshine” vitamin and four grams of fibre a day was associated with a reduced risk of colon polyps or pre-cancerous tumours.

Hypertension :: C-reactive protein – high blood pressure & heart attack

A blood protein that is a marker for inflammation and high blood pressure may be a stronger predictor of heart attack than cholesterol, say US researchers. “This is the first major demonstration that C-reactive protein levels may help us predict the risk of developing hypertension,” said Howard Sesso, lead author of the study published in Journal of the American Medical Association.
