Jaipur Literature Festival underway

7th Jaipur Literature Festival is going on in Pinkcity. About 240 writers, critics and thinkers are participating in the 5 days event. In the festival variuos aspects related to art, culture, history, translation and contemporary writing are being discussed.

Addressing a session on Nobel prize winner Dr Harold Warmus said that that “some people’s lives are ruined by the Nobel prize because they become globetrotters who have an opinion about everything.

Enthusiasm for books and writers could be seen among both young and old generations in this festival.

According to the organizers of Jaipur literature festival till now more than 2 lakh people visited the festival.

Today the Festival will also host sessions with Rana Dasgupta who will discuss his new book looking at the history of Delhi, it will also see the launch of the Crime Writers’ Association of South Asia and a session with film producer Ekta Kapoor.

Archaeologist and historian George Michell will address a special session on Fall of Vijaynagar which was the cultural hub of southern India in mideval period.

Sessions on contemporary art and Hindi, Gujrati and Rajasthani Poetry will also be organized today.
