The presence of infertility in a man may be the symptom of other underlying medical conditions (albeit rare) that should not be overlooked and in some instances, may be life threatening.
It is recommended by both the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American Urological Association that fertility testing of the infertile couple proceed simultaneously with both partners.
