HIV :: Gauteng Health conducts AIDS Campaign – South Africa

The Gauteng health department has initiated a door-to-door campaign, aimed at educating over one million residents about HIV and AIDS prevention and care.

About 12000 trained volunteers have been deployed around the province to educate people on issues around HIV prevention, health care for AIDS and social support for children affected by the disease.

Launching this year’s provincial World AIDS Day Campaign, MEC Brian Hlongwa told reporters that the department aimed to educate more than 1.5 million people on a range of AIDS issues.
