Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson is planning to enter into the health care market with plans to open a chain of doctors’ surgeries, reported by The Sunday Times.
Sir Richard Branson had announced plans for a Virgin Medical Centre scheme which would establish a chain of super-surgeries for groups of GPs under NHS. Sir Richard Branson already runs a number of fitness clubs under the Virgin brand, and last week he confirmed plans to enter into the stem cell storage business.
Virgin is not the only company looking to the health care sector as a means of future expansion. There are many big companies planning to venture in healthcare sector, like Supermarkets Sainsbury’s, Asda, Alliance Boots, etc.
