The Health and Family Welfare pavilion at the India International Trade Fair 2006 was inaugurated by Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the ambience to the exhibition approximately reflects the rural necessities, as their focus in the National Rural Health Mission launched last year. Though substantial progress has been made, a lot more needs to be done, he added. He said a holistic image of the on going health care activities was shown in the exhibition. The Minister said the experiment in Tamil Nadu of integrating Siddha in maternal and child health has proved very successful.
The Department of AYUSH has also put up a number of health care facilities. Various free services and entertainment are being provided with health messages. A number of doctors of various specialties including traditional medicine are available at the exhibition. The exhibition will be open till November 27, 2006.
