Health :: Glucosamine and Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders

Temporomandibular joint disorder is an acute or chronic inflammation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ; the joint connecting the lower jaw to the skull). The disorder and resultant dysfunction resultsin significant pain and impairment for many. There have been multi-factorialapproaches gleaned out of thousands of clinical studies.

There is a lack of sufficient evidence to recommend for or against the use of glucosamine (or the combination of glucosamine and chondroitin) in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders.
