The Pyrenees Principality of Andorra, one of the smallest countries in Europe, emerged in 2006 as one of the fastest growing donors to WFP, more than trebling its contribution to US$109,000 from US$32,000 the previous year.

Just in the last few weeks, Andorra pledged US$39,000 for the new WFP emergency operation in Sudan, which began on 1 January, making it one of the first donors to this operation. It also contributed US$32,000 to cover the cost of a de-worming campaign in Haiti, carried out by WFP and the UN Children?s Fund (UNICEF).
