Food :: National Institute of Food Technology in Kundli Haryana

The Indian Government is setting up a National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship & Management at Kundli in Haryana.

The Institute will function as a knowledge centre in food processing field with emphasis on inter-disciplinary research, developing new products and processes and incubating innovative ideas. It will also provide a forum for intense interaction with industry, Government, consumers and experts on the emerging contours of the food processing industry.

The Institute is expected to guide and advise on the human resource development support required for the sector and the regulatory framework for the industry. The Institute is likely to be partly operational this year.

The Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, gave this information in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
