Breast cancer :: Computer program IBIS helps to assess breast cancer risk

UK scientists have developed a computer program to calculate the risk of developing breast cancer in individual women.

Charity cancer Research UK said the Ibis risk evaluator uses age, height, weight, use of hormone replacement therapy, family history, and if she had given birth to determine the risk value.

“For many women, particularly those who have a relative affected by breast cancer, it’s their biggest health concern,” said Professor Jack Cuzick, head of the research team.
