Back Pain :: Back pain linked to poor dental work

Back pain could be a sign that a filling, crown or other dental work is causing uneven contact of the upper and lower teeth.

Therefore, the technical hospital in Hamburg advises people with back pain to consult their dentist before being diagnosed.

Poorly sized fillings, bridges, crowns or the loss of a tooth can cause a lack of proper contact of the jaw while chewing food. In a normal set of teeth, chewing is distributed evenly across all the teeth, but when a filling is too large, the upper and lower teeth do not line up.

Over time, more pressure is put on other teeth and the pressure ultimately is transferred to the vertebrae.
