Arvind Kejriwal to sworn-in as CM of Delhi on Saturday

Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal will be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday. AAP leader Ashutosh said the swearing-in will take place at Ramlila Maidan.

Mr. Kejriwal was elected leader of AAP Legislature Party at a meeting of newly elected MLAs yesterday.

Soon after the meeting, Mr. Kejriwal, accompanied by senior Party leaders, met Lt. Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung and staked claim to form a new government in Delhi.

A Raj Niwas press release said that the Lt. Governor will now send his report with his recommendation to the President to enable government formation, a formality under the rules. The release said, Mr. Kejriwal conveyed to the Lt. Governor that he has been elected leader of the AAP Legislature Party.

Aam Aadmi Party yesterday created history by winning 67 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, the elections for which were held on the 7th of this month. The BJP could manage only 3 seats. The Congress drew nil.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi party has said that it is ready to offer the leader of opposition post to the BJP in Delhi Assembly.

In a tweet AAP leader Kumar Viswas said, even if BJP failed to get less than 7 seats, party will offer the post to it.

I would say Aam Aadmi Party has created a chapter in the history of elections in India.
