HIV :: HIV & AIDS – Naturopathic Physicians

In many countries throughout the world, people are going to naturopathic physicians when faced with a health issue. Unfortunately, where I live in Vancouver, (British Columbia, Canada) the government is planning to cut back the scope of naturopathic medicine by imposing controls on what a naturopathic physician can and cannot do. The B.C. government does not allow naturopathic physicians to have access to medical labs and x-rays or to prescribe medications. The proposed changes include limiting the ability of naturopathic physicians to perform physical exams, diagnose and treat food allergies and place severe restrictions on the medicines ND’s use to treat patients. We must not lose the right of choice and the right to choose!

Macular Degeneration :: Pineal Gland theory & eye disease, sleep disorders

The pineal gland — which regulates the cycles of sleep and
waking — appears to have evolved as an indirect way to

National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at
the National Institutes of Health.

Arthritis :: Role of vitamin c in rheumatoid arthritis & osteoarthritis

Consumption of foods high in vitamin C appears to protect against inflammatory polyarthritis, a form of rheumatoid arthritis involving two or more joints, new research suggests. The findings contrast with a recent report linking high doses of vitamin C with worsening disease in guinea pigs with osteoarthritis, the more common type of arthritis that occurs with aging.

Arthritis :: Limit use of vitamin c in arthritis & osteoarthritis

Prolonged exposure to high doses of vitamin C seems to make osteoarthritis worse. This suggests that people should not exceed the recommended dietary allowance for vitamin C. Previous short-term studies have indicated that vitamin C might be protective against osteoarthritis, but long-term treatment with vitamin C has not been studied, the researchers note in the medical journal Arthritis & Rheumatism.

Hair Care :: Healthy Hair Tips

Many commercial shampoos, conditioners, and rinses contain chemicals that can damage the hair. You must use natural and organic hair-care products. Daily or regular shampooing, rinsing, and conditioning with natural products can help keep hair healthy and beautiful. Looked for hair care products with wheat germ, jojoba, and/or coconut oil, keratin, vitamins such as biotin, panthenol, vitamin A, E and essential oils. When applying shampoo, be sure to massage the scalp, as this activates circulation and energy flow, and stimulates hair at the roots. As much as possible, avoid using electric hair dryers, hot curling irons and let the hair dry naturally.

Eyes :: Eye puffiness under eyes and care tips

Puffiness under eyes is basically caused due to fluid and fat. Puffiness results when a fat pad that cushions the eye begins to pull away from the bone of the lower eye and sags due to age. Heredity makes this more of a problem for some people. Retaining water can also cause puffiness, especially in the morning.
