Depression :: Anti-depressants ‘could affect driving’

Up to a million people in the UK could be driving under the effects of older generation anti-depressant drugs and tranquilizers, which can include aggression, dizziness and blurred vision.

Concerns follow a UK Department for Transport report, which suggests more research is needed to investigate the effects of new anti-depressants on driving performance and accident risk. It recommends the testing of drivers involved in road accidents for the presence of drugs at the time, instead of the more traditional method of using prescription records.
