Health Plan :: US New Health Plan covers uninsured Americans, reduces US health spending

A new analysis of health reform bills in Congress prepared for the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System shows that many current Congressional health care proposals could significantly reduce the number of uninsured Americans and also decrease overall health care expenditures including those for insurance administration and prescription drugs.

Depression :: Duloxetine reduced non-specific pain and emotional symptoms with depression

The antidepressant duloxetine, at a once-daily dose of 60 mg, significantly reduced non-specific pain and emotional symptoms associated with depression in a new, eight-week, placebo-controlled study of 327 adult patients with at least moderate pain and major depression. The results were presented today at the 15th European Congress of Psychiatry (AEP) in Madrid, Spain.
