Light-Activated Tissue Regeneration and Therapy — II

Engineering Conferences International is sponsoring a second conference on Light-Activated Tissue Regeneration and Therapy to be held in Portugal this coming June.

Participants will discuss the latest advances in the field and measurements including the determination of the mechanisms of light activated tissue regeneration and therapy. We expect that the mechanisms will be verified by the start of the meeting. Light sources, narrow and broadband, as well as the metrology and medical outcomes they produce will be discussed.

Session Topics Sessions will focus on theory, basic research, clinical studies and therapies. Each session will include invited and contributed papers as well as extensive discussion. Sessions (with session chairs) are planned on the following topics:

Keynote ? Tiina Karu (Josepa Rigau) Photodynamic Therapy (Stuart Bisland) Pain (Mary Dyson) Wound Healing (Chukuka Enwemeka) Diabetes (Leonardo Longo) Mechanism (Ron Waynant) Cardiovascular and Stroke Repair (Uri Oron) Neuroscience / Progenitor and Stem Cells (Juanita Anders) Unusual Sources (Martin van Gemert) Summary and Future Work (Josepa Rigau)

This conference is being organized and chaired by Drs. R. Waynant, US-FDA/CDRM, J. Anders, Uniformed Services University, and J. Rigau, Virgili University, Spain. Papers and poster presentations are invited.
