Clinicians from the Waddell Center for Multiple Sclerosis will conduct MS Symposium 2007: Education, Support and Solutions, a free event for patients, caregivers and health care providers, on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland. The Waddell Center is an affiliate of UC Physicians and the Neuroscience Institute at University Hospital and the University of Cincinnati (UC).

Lung Cancer :: Blood protein detects lung cancer at earliest stage

Biopharmaceutical researchers have found a protein in blood they say is linked to all stages of lung cancer but which rarely shows up in the blood of people without the disease. Testing for this protein might help physicians decide whether smokers or others at high risk for lung cancer should be referred for lung imaging, say investigators, who presented their findings today in Atlanta, Georgia at the American Association for Cancer Research’s second International Conference on Molecular Diagnostics in Cancer Therapeutic Development.

Bird Flu :: Crucell to present pre-clinical results for H5N1 Virus treatment

Dutch biotechnology company Crucell N.V. (Euronext, NASDAQ: CRXL, Swiss Exchange: CRX) announced that its researchers have discovered a monoclonal antibody that is active against H5N1 avian influenza. The studies will be presented at the 5th International Bird Flu Summit scheduled for September 27 and 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
