E Coli :: Apparent food borne E Coli outbreak – Black Hawk County

The Black Hawk County Health Department held a press briefing on friday to report it is currently investigating an apparent food-borne outbreak of a disease characterized by severe diarrhea, cramping, and bloody stool specimens.

Black Hawk County Health Department revealed in a statement that they are investigating 19 suspected cases, and 14 of these are hospitalized in three county hospitals.

The Black Hawk County Health Department has established a call-in line for persons to report if they have developed severe bloody diarrhea and cramping any time after Tuesday, Nov_28, 2006.
