World’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – Foundation laid in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project ‘Statue of Unity’ – the world’s tallest statue of iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to be completed at the cost of 2,979 core rupees.

Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel laid foundation stone of the Statue on the occasion of Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary today.

Gujarat Government has recently awarded the work order to leading engineering company which will complete the entire project in 46 months.

The statue of Unity – the world’s tallest monument in respect of iron man of India will be set up on an island Sadhu bet-in Sardar Sarovar Dam near Kevadia Colony in Bharuch district.

182 meters tall statue will be completed at a cost of 2979 crore rupees, out of which 1345 crore rupees will be spent on main structure. 235 crore will be spent on the construction of exhibition hall and convention centre while 83 crore will be spent on the bridge connecting the memorial to the main land.

657 crore rupees would be spent to maintain the structure for next 15 years after its completion.

75,000 cubic meters of concrete, 5,700 metric tonne of steel structure, 18,500 steel rods and 22,500 metric tonne of bronze will be used for this project.

The ‘Statue of Unity’, which would be double in the size of New York’s ‘Statue of Liberty’, would inspire the future generations of India for years.
