World Poetry festival kicks off in New Delhi

The four day long World Poetry festival today kicked off in New Delhi on the occasion of World Poetry Day.

19 famous Indian poets along with 22 eminent poets across the globe are participating in the festival.

Inaugurating the festival, renowned English poet George Szirtes said that poetry is the mainstay of oral tradition over centuries and it can communicate the innermost values of diverse cultures.

George Szirtes said, it also acts as catalyst to unite people of different cultures all over the globe.

Well known Hindi Poet Kunwar Narayan and Odia poet Ramakant Rath also graced the occasion.
