Stress :: Managing stressful life with better lifestyle

As we all know, life is very stressful these days, specially in corporate sector. People work more, skip meals and miss sleep. Everyone is trying to achieve the targets, and then result is stress. In stress, mind grows all the negative thoughts like fear, anger, guilt, anxiety, frustration, and so on. And in response to all these, body produces catecholamines which results in increased acidity, faster beating of hearts, tensing of muscles, shooting of blood pressure and restless mind. Finally, all these end up with hypertension, thyroid problems, diabetes mellitus, and many other chronic diseases.

We can avoid the stress in our lives, but we can fortify ourselves with good nutritious food. Oats – rich in minerals for nerves, brown-rice – rich in iron and minerals, barley – helps in water retention, are some of nutrient food items in the list. Zinc, another de-stressor is found in nuts and leguminous plants. Dates, figs, raisins are rich sources of minerals which relaxes the brain.
