Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Museum

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Museum at Ahmedabad this evening. Dr. Singh will arrive in Ahmedabad by a special aircraft this evening and is scheduled to visit the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan – the headquarters of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress committee.

Sardar Patel National Museum has been developed at a cost of 28.54 crore rupees, out of which, 17 crore rupees were sanctioned by the Centre in 2010. The Museum- with a rich collection of belongings of Sardar Patel is the first of its kind in the memory of the iron man of India.

Sprawling over 36 thousand square meters in the Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad, the museum has been developed by the Ahmedabad-based Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial Society.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will share dais on Tuesday at the inauguration of renovated Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Museum in Ahmedabad. This will be the first time the two will be seen together after the BJP anointed Modi as its PM candidate.
