Immunisation :: New edition of ‘Immunisation against Infectious Disease’

THE NEW edition of the authoritative source of information on vaccines and immunisation, known amongst health professionals as the ‘Green Book,’ is being distributed free to primary care health professionals from today.

The ‘Green Book’, officially called ‘Immunisation against Infectious Disease,’ is a valuable reference guide on the latest UK immunisation recommendations and information on vaccines and vaccination procedures.

This edition is more comprehensive than previous editions. It has been completely updated and features new sections and chapters including an index on vaccines, immunisations for people with underlying conditions, and surveillance and monitoring of vaccine safety.

From today, hard copies of the new ‘Green Book’ are being distributed to health professionals with an interest in immunisation. Distribution should be complete by mid January 2007.

Chief Medical Officer, Sir Liam Donaldson said: “The Green Book is the key immunisation guide for health professionals as it contains valuable information on immunisation in the UK.

“I am confident this new edition of the Green Book will be useful to health professionals and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continuing work in immunisation.”
