Mayo Clinic in Rochester, has entered into a multiyear arrangement that expands its relationship with Medica, a Minneapolis-based health insurance company that serves more than 1.3 million members in the Upper Midwest.

Under this new arrangement, effective Sept. 1, 2007, Mayo Clinic in Rochester will provide health care services at the maximum in-network benefit level for a significant number of Medica’s commercial members. Mayo Health System is a network of clinics, hospitals and other health care facilities serving more than 60 communities in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin, linking the expertise of Mayo Clinic with health care providers in local communities.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Mayo Clinic in Rochester so that our members have access to Mayo’s team approach to diagnosis, treatment and specialty care,” says Mike Lenz, Medica’s vice president of network management. “We anticipate that this arrangement will add great value for our members.”

Medica members who have in-network benefits at Mayo Clinic in Rochester can discuss this option with their local primary care or specialty physicians in order to ensure coordinated care.
