Gopinath Munde dies in road accident

Rural Development Minister and senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today died in New Delhi in a road accident. 64-year-old Munde was on his way to airport when his car was hit by another vehicle at around 6:30 a.m.

Union Minster Nitin Gadkari told the mediapersons that he was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead around 7:50 am. Though Munde did not suffer any injuries, he apparently suffered a shock in the impact of accident.

Munde was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre by his personal assistant and driver. An AIIMS doctor said that When he was brought to the hospital, he did not have pulse and blood pressure. There was no cardiac activity.Despite all measures, Munde could not be revived and was declared dead.

His funeral will take place at his village in Latur tommorow.

President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed grief over the sudden demise of Union Minister Gopinath Munde. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.

Vice President Condoles the Death of Shri Gopi Nath Munde

The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari has deeply condoled the passing away of Shri Gopi Nath Munde, the Union Minister for Rural Development in a tragic road accident today. In his condolence message, the Vice President has said that Shri Munde was amongst the most prominent political leaders of Maharashtra who had a long and illustrious public life during which he served his state and the country in various capacities with great distinction. In his departure, we have lost a distinguished public servant whose absence will be felt by one and all.

“I am profoundly saddened at the passing away of Shri Gopi Nath Munde, the Union Minister for Rural Development in a tragic road accident today.

Shri Munde was amongst the most prominent political leaders of Maharashtra who had a long and illustrious public life during which he served his state and the country in various capacities with great distinction. In his departure, we have lost a distinguished public servant whose absence will be felt by one and all.

I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. I pray to the Almighty to give them strength and fortitude to bear this loss.”

The Agriculture Minister Shri Radha Mohan Singh has expressed shock and grief over the death of Union Minister Shri Gopinath Munde.

In his condolence message, Shri Singh has said, in the sudden demise of Shri Munde, the Nation has lost a promising leader with vision for taking the country to great heights.

National Flag to Fly at Half Mast Today

Shri Gopinath Pandurangrao Munde, Union Minister for Rural Development passed away today morning.

The Government has decided that the National flag will be flown at half mast today in Delhi and capitals of the states and Union territories, as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary.

The National flag will be flown at half mast on the day of the funeral at the place where the funeral will take place.

The Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi has expressed grief over the sad demise of Shri Gopinath Munde, Union Minister for Rural Development.
