Richwood Meat Company has voluntarily recalled approximately 107,000 lbs. of ground beef products. These products were only processed on April_28, 2006.
The product in question has the code date 4/28/06 or 118-6 printed on the packaging.
The contaminated beef was distributed in five states — California, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon and Washington — reported by the California Department of Health Services.
E. coli can generally cause several intestinal and extra-intestinal infections such as urinary tract infections, meningitis, peritonitis, mastitis, septicemia and gram-negative pneumonia.
