Dental :: Smile with WA dental care innovation

Australian Industry Minister, Ian Macfarlane, announced a $64,000 Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) grant to West Australian based Denta-Med Pty Ltd to market its innovative anti-bacterial dental gel.

Denta-Med is a novel gel product that directly addresses oral health problems.

“The grant will be used to further market the gel as the only safe, effective and pleasant-tasting anti-bacterial product on the market,” Mr Macfarlane said.

“Many oral-care products available today are largely cosmetic and deliver limited oral-health benefits. Denta-Med’s breakthrough invention uses advanced nano-particle technology and its market potential is exciting.

“Denta-Med is also exploring global licensing and marketing opportunities, while it already has an Australian patent with others pending.”

Twenty-three Australian companies are sharing in over $9.7 million through the latest round of Commercial Ready and Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) funding.
