Anorexia eating disorder in British women for hour glass figure

Anorexia – an eating disorder characterized by low body weight (less than 85 percent of normal weight for height and age), a thin body image, and an intense fear of gaining weight. A startling report has revealed that one in hundred British women suffer from some form of eating disorder like anorexia, bulimia, etc.

Following the report, experts are urging GPs to screen women and young girls for any signs of the devastating diseases. Health officials have pointed that the growing problems are mainly due to an increasing fear of becoming obese.

Experts suggest that an officially recognized screening tool which can help doctors spot a patient who could have an eating problem, will go a long way in stemming the problem.
