Acupuncture :: Feel Years Younger with Facial Acupuncture

A new acupuncture technique is helping some people decrease the appearance of wrinkles and look years younger.

For centuries, acupuncture has been used to treat everything from pain to depression. Now, acupuncture is the latest technique in facial rejuvenation, reported WCVB-TV in Boston.

Facial acupuncture involves small needles that are tapped into pressure points on the face. Practitioners then stretch skin from the chin line to the scalp. Practitioners said that it increases blood flow to the area, providing instant color and tighter muscle tone.

“It doesn’t have any side effects. Your face is never going to look burned or stretched. You’re going to look younger and more glowing,” said Anna Raynua, of Acupuncture Specialties Group in Newton Centre, Mass.

Women with hormonal imbalances or women who are under high stress are good candidates for the procedure, experts said.

Acupuncture practitioners said that the procedure balances the entire body’s energy system.
